How To Naturally Protect Yourself During The Coronavirus Pandemic

According to the Centre for Disease Control, there is currently no vaccine to prevent the Novel Coronavirus; however, there are ways to help protect yourself from this virus and avoid exposure and to practice pre-emptive actions to prevent the spread of germs, viruses, and bacteria. Below is a list of natural ways to protect yourself from the Corona Virus.



1. Be vigilant in public places

When you are in public, be vigilant of using public items like water fountains, handrails, doorknobs, gas station pumps, ATM's and keypads! 

2. Wash your hands & practice good hygiene

Proper hygiene is essential to the prevention of germs, viruses, and pathogens. It is important to wash your hands after touching any public surfaces before you eat, take vitamins, and also BEFORE and AFTER you use the restroom. If out in public and have no way of being able to wash your hands, you can use hand sanitizer as the next best thing. 


3. Shower immediately after returning home

Take your shoes off BEFORE you enter your home. When you get inside don't sit down or interact with other family members, you should immediately take a shower before anything else. Remove your clothing and put it into a bag to be washed, then get into the shower. 


4. Don’t touch your face, eyes or mouth

Germs can stay on your fingertips and hands hours after being exposed to certain viruses and pathogens. So avoid rubbing your eyes, nose, and face without washing your hands first. Also, avoid shaking hands or kissing others right now. 


5. Don’t share personal items

Keep your personal items to yourself! Don't share items such as hairbrushes, make-up items, or toiletries. Don't share foods, utensils, or reach your hands into bags of food like chips or cereal. When eating foods like chips or cereal that is shared with the entire family, you should pour it on a plate or into a bowl.


6. Eat Foods that help boost your immune system

Our first line of defense, of course, is the immune system. It needs to be prepared and ready to fight as it comes
in contact with this highly opportunistic pathogen. Eat healthy and fresh foods. Stay away from unhealthy foods
right now. Here is a list of foods that are good for boosting the immune system: 
  • Citrus Fruit
  • Red Bell Peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Spinach
  • Yogurt
  • Almonds
  • Turmeric
  • Green Tea
  • Papaya
  • Kiwi
  • Poultry
  • Sunflower Seeds

7. Stay Hydrated

The lungs require moisture and a healthy layer of mucus to function at their best.


P.S. Even if you practice all of these methods, it's still a possibility that you may come into contact wit Coronavirus and there are many factors that can come into play where you can possibly get sick. At that point, call your doctor or your local health department and they will advise you as to where to go from there.
Remember, if you get sick you need to STAY HOME and self isolate away from ALL family members.
